FAQ

Q) Can the Cooling pads be cleaned?

  • Yes. The rigid cellulose pads used on all of our models and can be easily removed from the units for cleaning.
  • Use a constant stream of water and soft brush to carefully remove any dirt and mineral deposits.

Q) Does the pads or air cooler have an odor? How to flush unit.

When the pads are new, a slight odor is normal. The odor will go away with a few days of use. If the air cooler produces any odors while in use, please try to following remedies:

  • a) Remove the pad(s) from the unit and wash with a constant stream of water for a few minutes.
  • b) Fill the tank with water, run in COOL mode for approx 30 minutes.
  • c) Drain the water from the tank, and repeat this procedure a few times

Q) Can the pads be replaced?

  • Yes, the pads can be replaced.

Q) Does the air cooler need water to operate?

  • All evaporative air coolers can be operated in either FAN or COOL mode. In FAN mode the air cooler can be used as an air mover to provide relief cooling. However, to enjoy the benefits of evaporative cooling in COOL mode, all units require the water reservoir to be filled prior to operation.

Q) Can the air cooler be operated without water?

  • Our portable evaporative coolers can be operated in either FAN or COOL mode. In FAN mode, the units do not require water. All evaporative air coolers come with low water level sensing to protect the pump when the water reaches the minimum level, however it is strongly recommended NOT to use the units in COOL mode without the proper amount of water in the reservoir. Doing so may damage the pump, shorten the life of the unit and invalidate any warranty.

Q) What voltage does an evaporative air cooler operate with?

  • air coolers are available in either 220V to 240V single phase. Please carefully read your owners manual and the unit data label to confirm the voltage of your unit. Check the power cable on all portable units for the water proof decal indicating the operating voltage of that model.

Q) Can the air cooler be used indoors?

  • Our range of portable evaporative coolers are great for cooling indoor and outside areas. Eg; kitchen, living room, office, bedroom, patios, workshops, foyers, sports events, warehouses, etc.

Q) How do you fill the cooler with water?

  • All of our portable evaporative coolers come equipped with a water fill door, located on the unit. Models for outdoor use also come with an external hose connector for continuous filling. Float valves come pre-installed.

Q) When I switch on the fan, it fails to start.

  • Check the connections and power supply.
  • The fan motor might be burnt/damaged, check with your nearest Service center or electrician.

Q) Air delivery of my fan is inadequate.

  • Check if the supplied voltage is 220/230 volts.
  • Check the capacitor connection and also get the capacitor checked for leakage.
  • Sometimes fans give lesser airflow due to faulty regulators, please get your regulator checked and repair/replace if required.
  • Ensure the room has proper ventilation.
  • In order to receive uniform airflow it’s important to ensure that the fan with the correct sweep size with respect to the area of the room is being used. Select the fan with a suitable sweep size as per the chart below:
Room SizeFan Size

4mX5m to 4.5mX4.5m1400MM

3.3mX4m to 3.7mX3.7m1200MM

2.7mX3.3m to 3mX3m1050MM

2.4mX2.7m to 2.4mX2.4m

900MM

For larger size two or more fans will be required.

  • The Fan may be too close to the ceiling. Minimum distance of plane of blade must be from 16-18 inches from the ceiling.

Q) The fan is making too much noise/sound.

  • Check if the fan is assembled properly.
  • Check the blades of the fan are properly fitted.
  • Get the bearings and lubrication checked.

Q) The fan is wobbling.

  • Check if the right set of blades are being used.
  • Check the fan is properly fitted to the ceiling.

Q) The fan is rotating in reverse direction.

Check if the connections to the motor have been done as per the specifications provided in the manual.

Q) The fan is not working at all.

  • Check the power supply and voltage.
  • Check the terminal block of motor for loose connection.
  • Please contact your nearest or electrician if the problem persists.

Q) I get an electric shock when I touch the fan.

  • Check if proper earthing has been done.
  • Do not touch the fan with wet hands.
  • It is always advisable to avoid direct contact with the earth while operating the fan, wear rubber soled shoes.
  • (Please contact your nearest electrician immediately)

Q) The fan is not oscillating.

  • Please check if the oscillation knob is properly tightened.

Q) There is too much noise/vibration in the fan.

  • The Blades might not be properly fixed. Fir the blades properly by tightening the blade fixing screws.
  • Check if the fan guards are tightly fitted.

Please check if the fan is kept on an even surface.
